Before you start
Trentzy uses the official Instagram API with Instagram Login. It works with Business and Creator accounts. A personal account has to be switched first: in the Instagram app go to Settings, Account type and tools, Switch to professional account. The switch is free and takes a minute.
You do not need a Facebook Page. You log in with your Instagram username and password directly on Instagram; Trentzy never sees them.
Connect in three steps
- 1In Trentzy open Settings and press Connect Instagram. You are sent to instagram.com.
- 2Log in if asked, then review the permissions screen. Keep every toggle on: Trentzy needs comments to see and answer comments, and messages to send DMs and show your inbox.
- 3Press Allow. You come back to Trentzy with the account connected and a green Live badge on the dashboard.
If a permission is missing
If you switched off a toggle on the Instagram screen, Trentzy still connects but shows an amber Permissions missing notice on the dashboard and in Settings. Automations that need the missing permission are blocked until it is granted, so nothing fails silently.
Press Fix permissions. Instagram shows the screen again; switch the toggle on and press Allow.
Reconnecting
Instagram tokens last about 60 days and Trentzy refreshes them automatically while the account is active. If you change your Instagram password, remove Trentzy from Instagram, or the account was inactive for a long time, you will see a Reconnect prompt. Reconnecting keeps all your rules and conversations.
